Laboratory of Hydrology and Geoinformatics
Laboratory of Hydrology and Geoinformatics, hereinafter referred to as "Laboratory", was established by order ╣ 282-ы of 27.07.04
STRUCTURE AND STAFF
Structural subunits of the laboratory:
- group of hydrophysical and river bed processes
- group of hydrology
- group of geoinformatics
MAJOR GOALS & TRENDS OF RESEARCH
Main objectives: fundamental and applied research in the field of studying, estimating, forecasting and rational use of water resources on the basis of mathematical modeling, the landscape-hydrological analysis of natural processes and geoinformation technologies. To achieve the goal, the investigations are made within the following trends:
- Hydrophysics and hydrology
- Computing hydraulics
- Hydroicethermal conditions
- Bed processes
- Hydrological calculations and forecast
- Informatics and geoinformation systems
- Scientific basics of surface and underground water monitoring
The primary research tasks:
- Working out of methods for estimation and prediction of surface water quantity and quality using mathematical simulation of water and hydrochemical runoff formation processes in river basins
- Improvement of existing and development of new methods for mathematical modeling of hydrophysical and hydrological processes with use of geoinformation technology, space monitoring data, landscape-hydrological, hydrochemical and other related research carried out by the Institute
- Creation of information-modeling and geoinformation systems for nature protection with the use of the unified methodological basis
